Day      Summary
Day 1 Our tour guide will meet you at Chogoria, a small town three hour from Nairobi, from where he will on-board you onto an SUV that would take you to the base of the mountain. The journey to base of the Mountain is an adventure in itself as it is filled with lush green vegetation. After reaching the mountain base, we trek through the forest towards our first camp site which is a tiny cabin where our clients get to spend the first night of their expedition.

Day 2 This is the day where all the fun really begins. When you wake up in the morning in your camp, you could see the gorgeous mountain in view. After the breakfast, we trek for a few hours, about 9kms up and we reach our second camp site for day 2, the Chogoria Roadhead at an altitude of 3300m. The Chogoria Roadhead is an ideal place to acclimatize. From here, you could trek to waterfall, caves and beautiful lakes. After a long tiring day, dinner is served in the tent and you spent the night in cozy tent.

Day 3 is the rigorous hiking day and we trek 12kms uphill. Since there is low oxygen content in air, our guides would take care that you pause in between the trek to consume hot chocolate to keep you warm and provide you with energy. Though the walk could be tough, we could assure you that the view would be all worth it. After an exhausting day, we reach our second camping site where dinner is provided in the tent before you could slip into your sleeping bag.

Day 4 is the final summit day. The day starts early, a couple of hours before sunrise. Our guides would provide you with required gear and headlamps to navigate in the dark. If you are travelling during full moon, you could enjoy the beautiful view of the summit in moonlight. When you reach the summit, you get to appreciate and admire the ethereal view of sunrise. You would like to see that you are surrounded by clouds orchestrating a breath taking view. After a few minutes of enjoying the summit top, we make our way downhill to camp.

Day 5 is marked by decent from the mountain. We wake up in our camp, where soup and bread is served before we hit the trail to downhill descent. The descent journey is much easier and you land at the base camp at Chogoria by the end of the day. You spend your night in the camp with free meals from our end.

Day 6 is the final day of our itinerary. A breakfast would be served post which there is a little trekking in the forest to the vehicle point where an SUV would be waiting for you to drop you to the nearest airstrip.
